Start of Session:

For the next few days, the Heroes rested in Goldenfields. The townspeople remained appreciative of the group’s efforts to defend the town. Every day finds plenty of food and Goldengulp ale for all.
The group spends time around town, helping where they can. Galadhon tracks the hill giants/ogres/bugears, etc. They split into several smaller groups. The hill giants seem to have a lousy sense of direction, and it looks like the ogres are leading the groups northeast from Goldenfields.
Aaron and Eleindar help casting various magic spells, and Houblon and Zarn try to examine as many bottoms of beer mugs as they can in a limited amount of time!
Both Eleindar and Aaron talk to Naxene. She directs them both to visit Seorn, the leader of Waterdeep’s Watchful Order of Magists and Protectors. The Order acts as a guild and academy for wizards and spellcasters in Waterdeep, policing their members to use their magical abilities wisely.
The group moves to talk to Zephyros. With a list of up to 5 questions, he can Contact Other Plane and talk to his “benefactor” that has been helping him lately. The questions (and brief answers) are:
- Where is Aerglas? (creator of Lifferlas) A: High Forest
- Is there any information to be found in the Shadowtop Cathedral to help with the shattering of the Ordining? A: No
- Where is Yan-C-Bin? A: Plane of Air
- What were the hill giants looking for in Goldenfields? A: Food
- Did they find it? A: No
Zephryos declines any further involvement in the quest at this time. He hasn’t determined his next steps via the Contact Other Planes spell yet. Bidding the characters farewell and good luck, he retreats to his flying tower.
Miros and Goldenfields throw a big party for the Heroes prior to them taking the barge downriver to Waterdeep. A great time was had by all, and the PCs had confidence that Naxene, Miros, Oren, Zi Liang and Sevembra would protect the town in their absence.
Heading down the Dessarin River in a barge piloted by an old man named Vaer, they learn some local history. The trip is largely uneventful, except for their “introduction” to a huge frost giant named Harshnag the Grim. Eleindar recognized him as a member of Waterdeep’s “Force Grey”; a powerful (and destructive) group of adventurers who protected Waterdeep in the past. Harshnag stops the barge and quizzes the group on the hill giants. After some conversation, he releases the barge to continue downriver while he decides to hunt the remaining hill giants. He does provide the party some information: “Guh” referenced by Lob and Ogg refers to the Hill Giant “Queen”.
Once the group arrives safely in Waterdeep, they take up residence at the ‘Sea Wall”, a remnant outer wall turned into an Inn. Eleindar steps away for a moment to handle some personal business. Once back together, the group heads to the House of Thann to talk to an elderly butler named Cauldar Marskyl. Upon seeing the pendant Zi Liang gave the group, he pockets it and takes the group up several flights of stairs to the storage rooms near the attic. There he presents the group with a locked chest containing:
- A potion of Mind Reading
- A potion of Stone Giant Strength
- Quaal’s Feather Token (anchor)
- bag with 1000 gp
- bag with 80 gp.
Cauldar explains that the pendant was a message to him from “Mistress Zi” that she was ridding herself from worldly goods and devoting herself to her faith. The bearers of the pendant were people she hoped would use these items for the betterment of all.
Talking their leave of Cauldar, the group heads back to the “Sea Wall”.
End of Session.
